Historical Museum de Bevelanden, Goes

4,2 (113) Zeeland

The museum in Goes showcases the rich history of Beveland. The highlights of the museum are four life-sized paintings of the Goese shooters, known as “The Night Watch of Goes”. The Shooter Dolls, with their beautiful costumes, are also real eye-catchers. Discover over 600 years of the city’s history or immerse yourself in the submerged land of Zuid-Beveland, shaped by devastating floods and land reclamation before 1953. Of course, you must not miss our impressive collection of regional costumes and samplers. In addition to the permanent collection, we host various temporary exhibitions each year. After your visit to the museum, Goes is also a lovely place to relax. The historic centre of Goes is perfect for a pleasant city walk. Stroll leisurely past the historic buildings in the city centre, walk along the charming marina, or enjoy one of the many terraces that Goes has to offer.
