Wat een leuk stukje historie. Mooie rustige natuurlijke omgeving. Met uitleg van de vrijwilligers erg informatief. Bijzonder hoe ze in de 19e eeuw zo'n vernuftig stuk techniek konden neerzetten.
Steam Pumping Station Arkemheen, Nijkerk
The Arkemheen polder is part of the National Landscape Arkemheen-Eemland (www.arkemheen-eemland.nl) and a Natura 2000 area. The Eurasian wigeon, the little white swan and the meadow birds are given extra protection here. It is a unique nature reserve with breeding grounds for many species of water and meadow birds and a foraging and wintering area for migratory birds.
Thanks to the surprising elements, visitors, young and old, get a good impression of the unique cultural-historical natural values of the Arkemheen polder. There are treasure hunts, a breathtaking photo wall, cuddly polder animals, the dike reeve tells her story; there is plenty to experience.
In the visitor centre, you will also find all sorts of information about activities in the National Landscape Arkemheen-Eemland and in the Veluwe. Coffee, tea, soft drinks and something tasty are also available here.

Mooi stoomgemaal wat vrij te bezoeken is. Jammer dat het op dat moment niet in bedrijf was, paar dagen later was dat wel, maar toen waren wij helaas niet meer in de buurt.

Heel mooi en perfect onderhouden stoomgemaal. De vrijwilligers staan voor je klaar als je vragen hebt en binnen zijn er exposities over het gemaal en de natuur rondom het gemaal. Zeker een bezoek waard en voor kinderen zijn er leuke en leerzame spelletjes die ze kunnen doen
