A visit to the Jopie Huisman Museum is more than worthwhile. Since its founding in 1986, the museum has welcomed over 2 million visitors.
Mooi museumgebouw, groter dan het er van buiten uitziet, met een aantal echt bijzondere schilderijen. Bepaald geen spijt van dat we er ruim twee uur en hetzelfde terug voor moesten rijden, ook al vanwege de uiterst vriendelijke dames die er, naar ik inmiddels heb begrepen, als vrijwilliger werken. Na het bezoek nog even de straat overgestoken, linksaf en dan rechts een smal steegje in, dat uitkomt bij een heel lang pad door de weilanden. Moet je doen, o ja, je eigen oortjes-met-draad mee naar het museum, dan kan het audioapparaatje in je zak blijven.

Erg mooi museum zijn werken spreken me erg aan. Vooral de stil levens zijn zo tot in detail uitgewerkt. De ruimte is ook erg mooi en het dorp Workum is ook echt de moeite waard om rond te lopen. Maar het museum ook en zeer betaalbaar.

Prachtig museum in een prachtig historisch 11steden stadje. De boodschap die Jopie de wereld mee wil geven is erg actueel. Duurzaamheid ten top Ook leuk museum voor kinderen.
